The Role: Orchestrating Live Events on a Global Scale
The Live Technical Launch Manager will be the central point of contact for the end-to-end live video pipeline, from initial acquisition to delivery on millions of devices. This involves:
- Pre-Event Planning: Coordinating with internal teams and external partners, defining responsibilities, managing readiness reviews, risk assessment, and leading testing and validation.
- Live Event Execution: Leading the Live Command Center, monitoring performance metrics, managing communication, and overseeing incident response. Hands-on tasks include device testing and verification of critical elements like closed captions and language support.
- Post-Event Analysis: Compiling summaries, conducting retrospectives, and addressing incidents to improve future live events.
What Netflix is Looking For:
- Experience: Proven experience in planning and executing live streaming events, ideally with broadcast master control experience. Familiarity with incident management in live streaming contexts is crucial.
- Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of live streaming systems, broadcast technology, encoding, and media delivery.
